Rainy Days

Springtime means rainy days.  And I learned quickly living here in the city that rain boots are a must.  I procrastinated for so long while in Michigan on buying some, but my good buddy Taryn taught me they are an essential out here!  We walk almost everywhere and boy do those cross walks get deep.  So, I splurged a bit and got me the Burberry ones I had been eyeing.  Don't worry...I did get a good discount.  And I don't seem to mind errands in the rain when I am wearing these  bad boys...so money well spent right?

Springtime!

Dare I say that spring is finally here?  I've thought it was before and then bam, right back to the snow and 30s.  But I'm really hoping that in mid April we can finally say hello to some warmer weather.  Life is just more fun when its warmer out.  Getting dressed is so much more fun in warmer temps...at least I think so!  We've been pretty low key lately so not as many cute outfits to post, but I loved this one from Easter Sunday.  You know I love a good excuse to dress up and one must dress up for Easter.  The whole outfit is the brand Chelsea28 from Nordstrom.  It is one of my favorite brands right now and not too crazy expensive.  This top and jacket is no longer available, but they have a current version that is just as cute!

The Greatest

Its February 5th today and that means this post is dedicated to Grandma Maisie on what would have been her 94th birthday.  She was the greatest woman I have ever known.  Its been 6 years and I still miss her dearly.  But today is for celebrating her.  She loved her birthday and we always celebrated it in style.  She taught us all that it didn't matter what the number was, your birthday was your day to live it up!  So today I will put on my purple and smile for all the amazing birthdays we had together. Happy Birthday Grandma.  I love you always.

 

Peplum Redo

I wore this outfit originally on Christmas Day when we were back in Michigan.  Hence the beautiful front yard scenery! But I love this sweater and have worn it multiple times since last year when I bought it.  Probably this exact outfit too!  I mean skinny jeans, peplum, and booties...its pretty much my uniform! I wore it again this past Saturday for Budster's birthday party...so Happy Birthday again my friend!  xoxo

Rock and Roll Errands

It occurred to me that my last few posts have been pretty dressed up. Clearly I do not look like that most days...wouldn't that be nice tho? This past weekend Jon and I had a bunch of errands to run so I tried out my new sweater and tee from Target.  And I totally loved the look so I thought it was a perfect chance to show one of my less fancy outfits!  Gotta love Target!

Surprise...Happy 40th Anniversary!

Well a surprise was the intent we all had when we planned this.  But my in-laws are too smart for the 6 of us and they were on to us from the beginning.  Although they were expecting a big party, so we did surprise them with our intimate dinner at Capital Grille with just the 8 of us in our own private party room.  So at least we did surprise them a little bit!  And we had an amazing night filled with laughter and lots of love.  Us 6 kids are in awe of their 40  happy years together.  Something for all of us to aspire to.  So congrats again MIL and FIL!  I love you both!!!

I just so happened to buy this dress 4 days before our big dinner.  We were at Nordstrom Rack returning pants, and you know I can't go into that store without at least browsing!  And browsing usually leads to great finds...like this dress!

Cheers to 2016!

Happy New Year pretty people!  Can you believe its 2016?  It feels like so much happened last year and all of a sudden its over.  While it wasn't all bad, I am happy to see last year go and very excited about all the potential for this new year.  Something about the unknown road ahead that always excites me. Here's hoping 2016 is all of our best years yet!

Jon and I were originally planning to spend NYE watching football and ordering takeout in our pjs.  But then our besties here in Hoboken invited us to a party!  Of course, any good night begins at our favorite Mexican restaurant, Charrito's (hello Sangria!).  It was a casual NYE, with jeans all around.  I found this Rachel Zoe top while Christmas shopping and was dying to wear it.  Gotta start the new year looking fabulous!
